Maryland State Board of Education to Meet Thursday, May 29

 

BALTIMORE (May 28, 2025) – The Maryland State Board of Education will meet Thursday, May 29, at 9 a.m. at the Nancy S. Grasmick State Education Building, 200 W. Baltimore St., in the Board Room (7th floor).

The State Board will consider a joint policy with the Accountability and Implementation Board about the criteria for teacher career ladder pilots in local school systems during the 2025-26 school year. In addition, the Board will receive an update on the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA)

New Teachers of the Year from local school systems and the most recent National Blue Ribbon School awardees will be honored during the meeting. The State Board is also slated to consider a resolution related to guidance on funding for charter schools.
