Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh took part in the Conference, in his capacity as Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP).

HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaeh participated in the first Intellectual Property (IP) Conference held in Hebron city with a recorded speech urging the Palestinian government to hastily issue IP related laws that were developed in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh took part in the Conference, in his capacity as Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP); the leading firm for global IP services. The event was held in the presence of Palestinian Minister of National Economy Ms. Abeer Odeh, Attorney General Dr. Ahmad Al Barrak, Governor of Hebron Mr. Kamel Hamid, Mayor of Hebron Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Khalil Rizq, and Chairman of the Palestinian Businessmen Forum Mr. Mohammad Nafiz Al Harbawi as well as a host of other dignitaries.

In his speech, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that TAG-Org maintains good relations with WIPO reiterating the necessity to issue new modern IP laws in the State of Palestine instead of the outdated current applied laws that are based on the 1952 laws.

He pointed out that even though the new law has not yet been issued, the Palestinian Registry managed to register more than 30 thousand trademarks and 300 patent applications which is considered a good achievement for a country that is under occupation and which uses outdated laws that don't take into consideration the requirements of the new binding WIPO conventions and agreements.

He noted that the law will generate foreign currency and revenues to the Treasury and will give a positive image of the Palestinian society that we are all proud of.

At the closing of his speech, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his wish to be able to personally participate in the conference following the liberation of Palestine, as his actual attendance was prevented the occupation, saying that he will not be denied his right to participate in such events and cooperate in boosting economic, humanitarian and intellectual fields for the Palestinian people wherever they are.

Minister Odeh and all other speakers highly commended  Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for his success and his prominent role in supporting the national economy.

TAG-Org was represented in the Conference by the Organization’s Executive Director in Palestine Mr. Jamal Melhem, AGIP Director in Ramallah Mr. Ma’an Naser, Marketing Officer/ AGIP Ramallah Office Mr. Amir Zubeidi, in addition to Consulting Manager Mr. Abdel Karim Al Kaabneh.
